Falling Walls Engage

Falling Walls Engage is the global platform for science engagement hosted by the Falling Walls Foundation. It believes public trust and involvement in science plays a central role in addressing global challenges, achieving the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, and contributing to the overall well-being of society.

Leave for Change

Established jointly by WUSC and CECI, the Uniterra program offers individuals and organizations the opportunity to make a difference in developing countries. In 12 countries and in Canada, these people are helping improve the future of communities by acting on five issues that affect people around the world.

The Africa Institute

The Africa Institute at Western University brings together more than 150 researchers, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows at Western who are working with partners across the continent to advance research efforts with, by and for Africans.

Alternative Spring Break (ASB) Program
The Alternative Spring Break program's goals include developing mutually beneficial partnerships between Western University's students and community organizations in London and across the globe; encouraging active participation in the community and increasing students' civic engagement; and supporting students academic success and career development.

Kitabi College of Conservation and Environmental Management (KCCEM), Kitabi, Rwanda
KCCEM seeks to be the leading mid-level environment and wildlife management college in the Albertine Rift Region. It delivers conservation and environmental education programmes that encourage the sustainable use of resources and assist in the alleviation of poverty.

Western Heads East, London, Ontario, Canada
The Western Heads East (WHE) program is Western University's community response to the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa. Started in Mwanza, Tanzania, WHE has spawned a sister project currently being set up in Kasipul, Kenya. By working with local women's groups, WHE has introduced probiotic yogurt as a means of addressing HIV/AIDS and malnutrition.
